Dead Snake Kitchen Brewery is a pico brewery founded by two neighbours in Halland's northernmost area. Our aim is to create flavourful beer that will hopefully delight both beginners and the more die hard beer enthusiasts. So if you expect a Sofiero you should probably look around for something else.

It all started when we discovered we both had a great interest in beer. Jörgen loved UK beers while Mikael was completely into beers from the North American continent...or maybe even more into trying anything he could get his hands on that was decent.
A few years later, Mikael tasted a couple of magnificent examples from the home brewers D3VI.SE, told Jörgen about it and Jörgen became very excited. If they could brew beer as good as that at home – well, perhaps we could also do it?

Said and done. In the autumn of 2009, Dead Snake started to take shape and on November 7th it was time for the premiere brewing of two whole grain beers. Since neither of us had any great experience of brewing substance (the closest we had come before was Jörgens bags of Coopers in the 80's and Mikael's purchase of a fermenter in the 90's) the beer architect Peter from Electric Nurse assisted with knowledge and advice at the premiere. Peter, who also incidentally was one of the home brewers behind the name D3VI.SE.
The result of the premiere brewing was two tasty India Pale Ales with a modest bitterness and a fairly light body.

Given that both of us are parents, our aim was to brew beer no less than four times a year. But because grain extract can shorten the brewing time significantly, it turned out that by extract brewing or B-I-B we could finnish a brew after the kids went to bed at night. Thanks to this, we have managed to brew on a lot more occasions than we originally had hoped to. During the first year no less than 20 (!) batches were finnished.
However, after the first year, we have reverted almost entirely to whole grain brew again, but we still see the extract as a great complement.

At this point in time, we don’t know what will happen in the future. At least nothing more than that we will continue with our brewing. However, we hope that one day, we will be able to brew a batch at a brewery, so that our beers will be available in one of the pubs in Gothenburg or Kungsbacka.
